OBITUARY: Mary Catherine Klak - Age 97 of Montrose Hill, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Henry J. Klak; loving mother of Joseph (Paula Fischer) Klak and Maura (Jerry) Kelley; grandmother of Lyndie Kelley, Laura Klak and Timothy Klak; sister of the late Edward Joyce, Thomas Joyce, Ellen Chirico and Anna Mae Puchtler; daughter of the late Patrick and Ellen Joyce. She also leaves behind extended family and friends. She worked as a RN at the VA Hospital in Aspinwall for over 40 years. Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 from 2-6pm at the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home & Crematory Ltd., 930 Center Ave. Pgh., PA 15238 (Blawnox) where family and friends will gather on Monday at 10am for a funeral service at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery on Sharps Hill Rd.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Henry J. Klak, 83, of O'Hara Township, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 21, 2010, at his home in O'Hara Township. - Born October 10, 1926, in Ambridge, PA, a son of the late Vincent and Pauline Wojtaczak Klak, he was a resident of O'Hara Township for over 50 years. He was a draftsman for the Allegheny Redevelopment Authority until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. He was a member of St. Edward Church. He loved to bowl, fish, play bocci and garden. - Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Klak, O'Hara Township; son, Joseph (Paula) Klak, O'Hara Township; daughter, Maura (Jerry) Kelley, O'Hara Township; grandchildren, Lyndie Kelley, Laura and Timothy Klak, and three sisters and a brother, Dorothy DiNinno, Ambridge; Joanne (Joseph) Barna, Monaca; Edward (Shirley) Klak, Ambridge, and Florence Jula, Ambridge. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. - In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sophie Andreatta. - Friends will be received Wednesday only from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the THOMAS M. SMITH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, LTD., 930 Center Ave., Blawnox, where prayers will be recited Thursday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Edward Church. - In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions to St. Edward Church Building Fund, 450 Walnut St., Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
