OBITUARY

Helen M. Young, 82, of Jeannette, died Friday, June 17, 2005, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born May 30, 1923, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Charles and Vallie Walthour Huether.

Prior to retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse by Westmoreland Regional Hospital, where she also was the former director of volunteers. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, of Jeannette, and a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing, Class of 1944.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Young Sr.; and a grandson, Tyler Young. She is survived by two sons, James W. Young Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Jeannette, and Charles J. Young and his wife, Linda, of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren, Melanie, Travis and Steven Young; a sister, Marguerite Kauffman, of Harrison City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Robert W. Jobe officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
