OBITUARY: Ellen (Brown) Hill, 66, of Adams Township, Valencia, died Saturday. Born in Pittsburgh, Dec. 21, 1944, she was the daughter of the late F. Gordon and Muriel (Dunkerley) Brown. She was the wife of E. Dean Hill; mother of Deanna (Michael) Panza and Travis (Chelsea) Hill; grandmother of Darian and Justin Castello and Tyler Hill; and dear friend of Jean Davis, Ken and Becky Deemer and family, and the Smith family. Ellen was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing and received her bachelor's in nursing from LaRoche College. She was an EMT for various ambulance companies and was dedicated to many nursing facilities throughout her career. Recently, she was working as an in-home care provider for terminally ill/home bound patients. Ellen was a volunteer with the Red Cross Disaster Unit, the Richland EMS and the Valencia Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. She was a member of the Butler Horsemen's Association, the Northwest Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association and the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. A Civil War enthusiast, Ellen was a very proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Civil War Roundtable of Butler.

HILL - The family of Ellen (Brown) Hill, who died Saturday, July 23, 2011, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Schellhaas Funeral Home, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dr. Karen B. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Hubbard Union Cemetery, Hubbard, Ohio.
