OBITUARY

Had worked as a nurse in Erie, Titusville

TITUSVILLE - Patricia Hartary Henderson, 78, of 625 W. 7th St., Erie, died Wednesday, June 18, 1997, at Hamot Medical Center.

She was born in Chickasha, Okla., Oct. 2, 1918, daughter of the late William A. and Grace C. Boyle Hartary.

A 1937 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Mrs. Henderson graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh.

Most recently, she worked at Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Erie. She previously worked at St. Mary's Home of Erie, Titusville Area Hospital and as an industrial nurse for Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. in Titusville.

Mrs. Henderson was a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Erie and belonged to St. Titus Catholic Church and the parish Rosary Society while living in Titusville.

She was a sports fan and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She was preceded in death on Aug. 22, 1961, by her husband, Ned Henderson, whom she married Nov. 24, 1954.

Survivors include a son, Steven W. Henderson of Erie and his wife, Deborah; a daughter, Edith M. Howard of Erie and her husband, James; three grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Henderson and Patricia Howard; a sister, Mary Frances Hartary of Erie; and a nephew.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with a vigil service there at 8:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Titus Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. James G. Gutting, pastor, will officiate.
