At the time of the 1910 Federal Census of Avalon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Benjamin N. Dorr, a Barber, 38, and his wife, Mary E., 37, lived on Birmingham Avenue with the following children: Harry O., 15, Eurilda C, M., 12, Elizabeth R., 4. A son, George S., born in 1899, had died earlier.

Elizabeth's father died a year after she graduated from nursing school.

In 1940, Elizabeth R. Dorr, 34, Registered Nurse, lived with her mother, Mary E. Dorr, on Gross Street, Pittsburgh.

According to their marriage record, Nurse Elizabeth Rebecca Dorr, 44, married Herbert Louis Colston, 48, on February 26, 1949 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Neither had been previously married. He was born in Sharpsburg, Allegheny County, and was employed as a Transitman. Elizabeth was born July 18, 1905 in Avalon, Allegheny County. Her parents were Benjamin Dorr, born in Ohio, and Mary E. Atkins, born in Allegheny County. At the time of her marriage, her father was deceased and her mother resided with her on Penn Avenue.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Pittsburgh Press, Aug 27, 1965 -- COLSTON, Herbert L, of 811 South West 28th Terrace, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., former resident of Pgh., on Aug. 26, 1965, survived by his wife, Elizabeth Colston. Services to be held Saturday morning Aug. 28, at 9:30, in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Ft. Lauderdale. Interment Lauderdale Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Elizabeth Dorr Colston died on July 3, 1987 in Broward County, Florida. Her last residence, per her Social Security record, was Pompano Beach, Broward County.
