ROSE DONATELLI BIANCHI

Rose Mary Donatelli was born on September 7, 1906 in Conway, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Her parents, as stated on her Social Security record, were Simon Donatelli and Marta Gizzi, both born in Italy. Her parents are recorded on her birth record as Sam Donatelli and Janet Martha Gizzi.

The Simon Donatelli family is first found in the 1910 Federal Census of Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Simon, 29, and his wife, Antonia, 26, both born in Italy, had been married for five years and they owned a home on Deer Avenue. They had three children, Rosa, 3, Julia, 2, and Angeli, 5 months. Simon was employed as a Laborer in a Glass Factory.

At the time of the 1920 census of Rochester, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, "Sam Donnitelli," 38, and his wife, Jeanette, 34, both born in Italy, were on Deer Lane. "Sam" was a Laborer at the Sanitary Works. The children, all born in Pennsylvania, were Rosie, 13, Julia, 12, Angelo, 10, Arnold, 8, Dan, 5, Ida, almost 5, and Mary, 2.

Rosie Donatelli, Student Nurse, is named in the 1927 City Directory of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. At the same address on Deer Lane were Angelo Donatelli, a patternmaker, Julia, a clerk, and Simon, a molder.

In 1930, Rose Donatelli, 23, Hospital Nurse, was a Lodger on South Pacific Avenue. She was born in Pennsylvania and her parents were born in Italy. A number of other nurses resided there, as well, including St. Francis graduates, Martha Petritis/Petratis, Veronica Gordon, Blanche Spada, and Katherine Kleber.

From the list of Pennsylvania Registered Nurses, 1940-1941, published by the State Board of Nurse Examiners: "Rose Donatelli Bianchi, 650 Park Rd., Ambridge."

The husband of Rose Donatelli was Charles A. Bianchi.

In the 1940 census of Ambridge, Beaver County, Rose Bianchi, 33, is found on Park Road with her husband, Charles A. Bianchi, 45, and daughters, Barbara, 7, and Carla, 2. Charles was employed as the Employment Manager for an asphalt mill. The record indicates that in 1935, they have lived at Fair Oaks, Allegheny County.

When their daughter, Barbara Marta Bianchi's engagement to Klaus Heck was announced in 1958, the family lived on Beaver Street, Leetsdale, Beaver County.

Rose's brother, Angelo, died in 1957. Her father, Simon Donatelli, died in 1960. They are buried at Saint Cecilia Cemetery, Beaver County.

Rose Bianchi died on June 28, 2000 in Hadley, Hampshire County, Massachusetts; last residence, Amherst, Hampshire County.
