When Dorothy M. Dinda was a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital, she participated in the U. S., World War II Cadet Nursing Corps. Her membership card indicates she was born on July 20, 1927, the daughter of John F. Dinda, a Machinist. She was a resident of Ambler Avenue, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

The family is found on Ambler Street in the 1940 Federal Census of Cleveland. John Dinda, a Machinist, and his wife, Veronica, both born in Pennsylvania, had four children, all born in Ohio. They were Dorothy, 13, John Thomas, 11, Francis, 8, and Evelyn, 5.

HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: Napa Valley Register (CA), July 8, 2010 - Gaetano Pasquale Russo, 86, a retired architect, university administrator and gifted woodworker, died peacefully on June 30, 2010, at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo. Gaetano was born in Providence, R.I., on Feb. 4, 1924, to the late Pietro-Antonio and Angelina Russo. - He was a veteran of World War II (U.S. Navy) and a graduate of Catholic University of America. A member of multiple professional and social organizations, he served as the president of the Association of University Architects (1997-8) and in 1992, he was named a fellow. - He was the beloved husband of Dorothy M. (Dinda) Russo for over 59 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by seven children: Peter Russo and Kit Bakke (Seattle, Wash.), Paula Russo and Jeff Leonard (San Anselmo), Mark and Lisa Russo (Pinole), Francis Russo and Patti Stieger (McCall, Idaho), Gina Russo and Jose Sandoval (Vallejo), Leanne and Lars Swann (Honomu, Hawaii), and John and Marisa Russo (San Rafael). He is survived by seven grandchildren: Joanne Morocco, Christopher Leonard, Mayan Noren, Tess, Leah and Alexandra Russo, and Abigail Sandoval. He leaves a sister, Julia Schewe of Columbia, Mo., and a brother, Dr. Francis X. Russo of Wakefield, R.I. He is predeceased by a son, Philip James Russo; his sisters, Elizabeth Land, Anna Lorenzo and Teresa Ragno; and his brother, Pasquale Russo. - A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m., at St. Apollinaris Catholic Church, 3700 Lassen St., Napa. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 2121 Spring St., St. Helena.
