George William “Bill” Daugherty, 64, of Hunker, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his residence. Bill was born August 7, 1954 in Connellsville, a son of the late George Henry and Ellen Marie (Cassidy) Daugherty. He married Marcia Marie (Stoner) Daugherty on February 2, 1974.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was employed for over 20 years as a registered nurse at UPMC Shadyside Hospital and formerly worked at St. Francis Hospital. Bill and his wife were faithful members of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. He graduated from Southmoreland High School, Class of 1972, St. Francis Nursing School, and received his BS degree from Waynesburg College. Bill enjoyed golfing with his brothers and friends.

Bill will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 44 years, Marcia Marie (Stoner) Daugherty; his two children, Brandi Defries and husband Bradley of Jefferson Hills and Brad Daugherty and wife a Stephanie of Blairsville; his two grandchildren, Marley and Carson; his two brothers, Thomas Daugherty and wife Linda of Hunker and Donald Daugherty of Scottdale; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM Sunday and 10-11 AM Monday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday with Pastor Robert Huber officiating.
