DOROTHY ANNE CROWLEY McCAFFREY

According to her Social Security record, Dorothy Anne Crowley was born on December 4, 1914. Born in Pittsburgh, she was the only child of Bernard J. Crowley and Dorothy Klur.

At the time of the 1920 Federal Census, Bernard J. Crowley, 26, an Inspector at Gear Works, and his wife, Dorothy V., 22, had one child, Dorothy A., age 5. The family lived on Keystone Street, Pittsburgh.

In 1940, Bernard J. Crowley, 46, and his wife, Dorothy, 42, lived on Antietam Street. Their daughter, Dorothy, age 25, was a sales lady in a department store.

Dorothy graduated from the school of nursing at St. Francis in 1946.

In July 1950, Dorothy and her mother traveled to Bermuda.

In the 1949, 1950, and 1951 Pittsburgh City Directories: "Crowley, Dorothy A. nurse r981 Wash blvd." At the same address are Bernard J. Crowley and his wife, Dorothy V.

On May 9, 1953, Dorothy Anne Crowley married Paul James McCaffrey, an Army Veteran of World War II.

Dorothy's mother died at St. Francis Hospital on December 18, 1961. Dorothy's father died in 1981.

Dorothy died on January 19, 1976. Her husband, born on November 30, 1919, died on April 2, 1978. They are buried at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. [Diocese database has her death date wrong.]
