HELEN CONWAY HAYDEN

According to her birth record, Helen Anna Marie Conway, born in Clairton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1907, was the daughter of (Francis) Frank Conway, born in Ireland, and (Elizabeth) Lizzie Donahue, born in Pennsylvania.

At the time of the 1910 Federal Census, the father was a Furnaceman in the steel mill. The children were Francis W., Lester B., Bessie, Helen, and Margaret.

In 1920, Frank was a stopper maker at the steel mill. The children in the home were Helen A., Harriet M., and daughter, Elizabeth M. and her husband, Cornelius Murphy. Francis "Frank" W. had died of accidental drowning in 1919.

Helen married John Denny Hayden shortly after graduation. They had two children and divorced circa 1947.

Helen Conway Hayden died of a brain abscess & pneumonia at West Penn Hospital on August 25, 1958. She is buried at Saint Clare of Assisi Cemetery, Clairton, Allegheny County.

J. Murphy of Clairton and Mrs. William Piper of Elizabeth. Friends will be received at the Finney and Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 Fifth Ave., Clairton, Pa., between the hours of 2-5 and 7-10. Solemn high mass of requiem in St. Clair's Church on Thursday at 9:30.
