HUSBAND'S OBITUARY: BOCA RATON, Fla. - Richard K. "Harv" Slocum, 90, died Tuesday (May 7, 2013) from a brief illness. - He was the son of the late Claude and Claudia Slocum. - He served his country with both active and reserve duty. He dedicated 41 years of service between the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard. He retired as a pilot commander and a highly decorated World War II, Korea and Vietnam veteran. - He drove a public school bus for 23 years and retired after 36 years with the U.S. Postal Service. - He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Slocum of Boca Raton; his stepson, Joseph (Kathy) Zuccala of Watertown, Mass.; five children, Patrica Joanne "P.J." (Frank) Baganto of Thornburg, Pa., James Slocum of Bradford, Pa., Marilyn (William) Kavaleski of Boston, Mass., Richard (Teresa) Slocum of Peach Bottom, Pa., and Martha (Wayne) Gorman of Plum Boro, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. - He was preceded in death by two wives, Sarah Stull and his first wife Marjorie Colligan Slocum. - Private arrangements will be made by the family.
