Beatrice Brunner, a resident of Cheswick, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania was in the U. S. Cadet Nursing Corps during World War II. Her membership card indicates her father was James C. Brunner, a Boiler Fireman.

At the time of the 1930 Federal Census, James Bruner, 24, of Sherman Street, Cheswick, and his wife Mary, 25, had two daughters, Charlotte, 7, and Beatrice, 2.

Mary Ida Davis Brunner, 31, died of Acute Dilatation of Heart, related to Influenza, on December 2, 1936. She is buried at Plum Creek Cemetery, Allegheny County.

OBITUARY: Beatrice B. (Brunner) Raber, 95, formerly of West Lawn, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center. Born in Arnold, PA she was the daughter of the late Mary I. (Davis) and James C. Brunner. Mrs. Raber was the loving wife of William J. Raber to whom she was married to for 70 years. William predeceased her in death on July 30, 2021. Mrs. Raber was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1948 and was a Registered Nurse at the Reading Hospital for 17 ½ years until her retirement in 1988. Mrs. Raber enjoyed bowling, baking, and reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Raber traveled often and their favorite places to explore were out West. In addition to traveling, she was an avid walker, loved watching golf tournaments, and listening to music, especially the theme from the Magnificent Seven. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and radiant smile.

Mrs. Raber is survived by her children; Richard W. Raber, husband of Bernadette J. Gerhard of Maine, James A. Raber, husband of Robin A. of Shillington, Judith B. Raber, of Horsham, Mary Kay Kenyon, of Kenhorst, and Paula M. Shivers, wife of Thomas Diffenderfer of Wernersville. Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 am in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. Entombment to follow in the Chapel of Saint George at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Bean Funeral Homes, Sinking Spring.
