Frances Marcella Blake was born on January 17, 1908, according to her birth record. Her parents were John Joseph Blake, a butler, born in Ireland, and Margaret Elenora Hum, born in Monaca, Pennsylvania.

Frances was a student nurse at St. Francis Hospital at the time of the 1930 Federal Census. She was residing in the Nurses' Residence, but she is also listed as "Student Nurse" with her family, residents of Murtland Avenue, Pittsburgh. Her parents were John J. Blake, a policeman, and his wife, Margaret E. Siblings were Mary A., and John J., Jr.

The husband of Frances M. Blake was Edward J. Aul, Jr. They were married on November 24, 1932 at Holy Rosary Church, Pittsburgh. The marriage record states that Frances was a nurse and Edward was a barber.

Edward and Frances M. Aul are found in the 1940 census with three children, Mary Frances, 6, Edward Thomas, 5, and Jerome Joseph, 1.

The father, John J. Blake, Sr., died in 1951. The mother, Margaret E. Hum Blake, died in 1964.

Frances Marcella Blake Aul died on May 31, 1988. She is buried at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, McMurray, Washington County, Pennsylvania.
