At the time of the 1940 census, Helen Bisup was a student nurse at St. Francis and she lived at the Nurses' Residence.

In Pittsburgh, on July 7, 1943, Helen M. Bisup, 23, a Nurse, married William E. Patula, 25, a soldier on leave from the U. S. Army Will Rogers Field, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

According to the marriage license application, Helen was born on November 28?, 1919 at Mammoth, Pa., which is in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County. She was living in Pittsburgh. Her parents were John and Anna (LaBuda) of Acme, Pa (also in Westmoreland County). William Patula was born in Acme, and that was also his place of residence.

Army Veteran, William E. Patula, born February 14, 1918, died February 22, 1992. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh.

When their son, Edward J. Patula, married in August 1966, a news article named his parents as "Mr. and Mrs. William E. Patula of Munhall."

The date of Helen's death is not know but she is probably buried at Calvary Cemetery.

BROTHER'S OBITUARY: Thomas J. Bizup, MD, 85, of North Market Street, New Ringgold, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, in Providence Place, Pottsville. Born in Calumet, Dec. 12, 1923, he was a son of John J. and Anna M. Labuda Bizup. He was the husband of the late Nancy L. Wertman, RN, who died Oct. 18, 2007. He was a graduate of Hurst High School, Mt. Pleasant Township; St. Vincent College, Latrobe; and Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Chicago, Ill. Dr. Bizup was a general practitioner in New Ringgold for 50 years. He was associated with the former Pottsville and Good Samaritan hospitals and was an emergency room physician at Pottsville Hospital for many years. Tom was a World War II veteran, serving as a corporal in the Marine Corps. He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. Dr. Bizup was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and The American Medical Association. He was preceded in death by a brother, John T. Bizup; and five sisters, Margaret Bizup, Helen Patula, Dorothy Weir, Anna Catherine Botta and Mary Lou Kuhns. He is survived by four daughters, Susan B. Ryan, of Syracuse, N.Y., Anne M., of New Ringgold, Dr. Amy E., wife of David Barrett, of Hampden, Maine, and Rebecca A., of Manlius, N.Y.; a son, Thomas A., husband of Karen Bizup, of Lehighton; a brother, Joseph T., husband of Elise, of Acme; three sisters, Theresa, wife of Joseph Stas, of Whitney, Betty, wife of George Marshall, of Youngstown, Pa., and Pauline, widow of Joe Pfeiffer, of Mt, Pleasant; five grandchildren, Tiffany and Brandon Bizup, and Danielle, Andrew and Christopher Barrett; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Abraham Ha as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Ambrose Chapel. Interment will be in St. Ambrose Mausoleum, Schuylkill Haven. HAMILTON FUNERAL HOME INC., 116 S. Liberty St., Orwigsburg, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
