MARY LOU BENARDING REICHLIN

Mary Lou Bernarding was born in Lorain, Ohio on July 26, 1907, the daughter of Joseph Bernarding and Barbara Barcic, both born in Yugoslavia.

Mary Lou's sister, Rose Marie, graduated in the St. Francis Class of 1930.

In the 1940 census, Mary Benarding, 31, is found as a Resident Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, Black River Township, Lorain, Ohio. She was born in Ohio, but the record indicates she had lived in Pittsburgh in 1935.

On October 15, 1941, at St. Ursula's Church, Allison Park, Pittsburgh, Mary L. Bernarding, 34, Nurse, a resident of Allison Park, married Joseph A. Reichlin, 33, a Chemist, born in Lorain, Ohio on March 23, 1908.

In 1943, Mary Lou and Joseph had twins, a son, Joseph C., and a daughter, Rose Ann.

The death of Mary Lou Reichlin occurred as a result of cancer on July 23, 1951 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lorain. Her husband died in 1971. Their son, Joseph C., a resident of New Orleans, La., died in 2009. They are buried at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.

Rose Ann, the twin sister of Joseph C., became a nun, Sister Mary Joseph Louise. She lives in Peru. She and Joseph were only 7 when their mother died.
