NAOMI BAYOT HENDERSON

Sisters, and St. Francis graduates, Naomi and Janet Bayot, were born in West Virginia to Marcel Bayot and Theresa Reneetha Peltier, both born in Pennsylvania. The father was a glass cutter at the time of the 1930 census of Sistersville, Tyler County, West Virginia, at which time, Marcel and Reneetha had been married about two years. In 1940, the family lived in Jeannette, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Naomi, 9, and Janet, 6, had a sister, Gayle, age 2, born in Pennsylvania.

In 1953, Naomi was listed as a nurse in the city directory of Greensburg, Westmoreland County.

The father, Marcel F. Bayot, born in 1906, died in 1974. He is buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Jeannette, Westmoreland County.

OBITUARY: Naomi B. Henderson, 91, of Youngwood, passed away on Thursday March 3, 2022 She was born on April 26, 1930, in Sistersville, W.V., the daughter of the late Marcel and Theresa (Peltier) Bayot. Naomi was Catholic by faith and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Youngwood. She retired from Westmoreland Hospital as an Operating Room Supervisor and was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Surviving are her children, Sam Henderson (Toni) of Greensburg, David Henderson (Cindy) of Greensburg and Judy Field (Tony) of Irwin; her grandchildren, Skip Henderson, Tiffany Thakker (Vinay), Ashley Henderson, Dana Feild and Cpl. Kristen Minott (James); her great grandchildren, Aiden, Collin, Layla, Emma, Owen, Hudson and Garrett. Naomi is also survived by her sisters, Janet Kozlosky of Sagamore Hills, O.H. and Gayle Lapina of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Merle "Sam" Henderson. A visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home Inc. 101 S 4th St. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 711 Depot St. Youngwood. MOTHER'S OBITUARY: Theresa Reneetha Bayot, 96, formerly of Jeannette, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002. She was born May 6, 1905, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Victor J. and Mary Breinig Peltier. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sharon Kozlosky; and three brothers, Harry, George and Regis Peltier. She was a secretary at the former McKee Glass in Jeannette and retired from the Jeannette Public Library as a librarian. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Jeannette and the Sacred Heart Rosary Altar Society. She was a former volunteer with the following organizations: Jeannette Hospital, Westmoreland Manor, Jeannette Baby Clinic, American Red Cross, the Sacred Heart cafeteria and also Meals on Wheels. Surviving are three daughters, Naomi A. Henderson and her husband, Merle, of Youngwood, Janet E. Kozlosky and her husband, John, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, and Gayle B. Birk and her husband, Bucky, of Jeannette; 11 grandchildren, Sam and David Henderson, Michael Kozlosky, Bucky Birk, Judy Field, Lisa Matt, Renie Bartos, John Kozlosky, Joe Birk, Terri Tiberi and Mark Kozlosky; and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Jeannette, with the Rev. Father William A. Beaver, O.S.B., as celebrant.
